When I have the shelly1 connect to live and neutral on the power cord and I plug it in and then test the switch in HABPanel I can hear it clicking when I turn it on and off. So now I wanted to connect the shelly to the power cord and then out to a 2 wire lamp. I am in the US. Thanks very much.

The switch was the circle object on the left that was the lamp. Thanks for your feedback. All of the Shelly diagrams show connecting to a neutral, hot, and load. I was able to get Shelly1 to work properly by connecting the neutral to ground - but if I remember correctly this is not something one would want to do.

If I replace the load with the switch in the diagram in this thread - then Shelly will only activate the light if the switch is on. This is not desirable. Note: I figured this out for a three way set up where there are four wires.

But, nothing is working regardless of how I wire this switch. Confused about wiring shelly 1 Setup, Configuration and Use Beginners. I am in the US Any assistance would be appreciated Wally.

Greetings Markus. Markus - could you help me as well? The are no separate load and neutral lines.

Can you help me understand? You simply can not run a shelly without a seperate neutral wire. This Binding integrates Alterco Shelly devices. Alterco provides a rich set of smart home devices. The binding is officially acknowledged by Alterco and openHAB is listed as a reference.

Alterco directly supports this project. The binding controls the devices independently from the Alterco Shelly Cloud in fact it can be disabled. The binding focuses on reporting the device status and device control. Initial setup and device configuration has to be performed using the Shelly Apps. The binding gets in sync with the next status refresh. The binding defaults to CoIoT events when firmware 1. CoIoT provides near-realtime updates on device status changes.

This mode also overrules event settings in the thing configuration. Disabling this feature allows granular control, which event types will be used. This is also required when the Shelly devices are not located on the same IP subnet e.

In general devices need to be powered to be discovered by the binding. The binding uses mDNS to discover the Shelly devices. They periodically announce their presence, which is used by the binding to find them on the local network.

The binding requires firmware version 1. Some of the features are enabled dynamically or are not available depending on device type and firmware release. The Web UI of the Shelly device displays the current firmware version under Settings:Firmware and shows an update option when a newer version is available. The current firmware version is reported in the Thing Properties. A dedicated channel device updateAvailable indicates the availability of a newer firmware.

Once you have updated the device you should delete and re-discover the openHAB Thing. Battery powered devices need to wake up by pressing the button. This makes sure that the Thing is correctly initialized and all supported channels are created. At a minimum you should restart the binding on the openHAB console if you don't want to re-discover the things.

The Shelly devices can be configured to require authorization through a user id and password. In this case you need to set these values in the Thing configuration after approving the Inbox entry. When the window is closed, the previous temperature should be restored.

For this I have created items and rules. A dummy item is used to store the temperature before the window is opened. Often the window is closed and a temperature is set and it is still switched to the temperature that was set before the last time the window was opened.

Although no window was opened in the meantime. Here is the log over 24h: event. I think you only want to run the rule on changed. Devices can and do make periodic updates to the same value.

Thank you rossko57! I tried this and it seems to be the solution to the problem. I will wait until tomorrow. You would normally do that with a postUpdate.

Bear in mind I have no idea what your Items are intended for, or what you expect the rule to do exactly. Commands are usually meant for something else to act, like a binding or another rule.

It takes the command, guesses the likely outcome, and updates the Item state with a new value. If you just want to write something to the Item state, do so directly using postUpdate. I have no clue what you are writing. I even used a translator and came up with the same gibberish, sorry. Some posts use postUpdate, some use sendCommand, and some use both. I do not understand any deeper meaning. Some people are careless. Some people do not understand what they are doing.

Some people copy others work without understanding. You can send an Item a command. A command is usually used to do something to an external device - switch it on, perhaps. There is a feature of openHAB called autoupdate, automatic update. This Binding integrates Shelly devices.

To utilize all features, the binding requires firmware version 1. This should be available for all devices. Older versions work in general, but have impacts to functionality e. It also informs you when an update is available. Use the device' web ui or the Shelly App to perform the update. The binding uses mDNS to discover the Shelly devices. They periodically announce their presence, which is used by the binding to find them on the local network.

Make sure to wake-up battery powered devices press the button inside the deviceso that they show up on the network.

Sometimes you need to run the manual discovery multiple times until you see all your devices. This can be achieved by.

The Shelly devices can be configured to require authentication through a user id and password. In this case you need to set these values in the Thing configuration after approving the Inbox entry. The binding provides health monitoring functions for the device.

When an alarm condition is detected the channel alarm gets triggered and provides one of the following alarm types:. The Shelly 2.

However, it doesn't make sense to differ power consumption for the roller moving up vs. For this the binding aggregates the power consumption of both relays and includes the values in "meter1". Please note that the settings of channel group color are only valid in color mode and vice versa for white mode. The current firmware doesn't support the timestamp report for the meters. Maybe an upcoming firmware release adds this attribute, then the correct value is returned.

Use the channel rollerpos only if you need the inverted roller position, otherwise use the control channel with item type Number The different devices have different types of power meters, i. This could be an indicator for a firmware problem. The relay was turned off. A new alarm will be triggered on a new condition or every 5 minutes if the condition persists.

My setup: openhabian with usb zwave controller. I already integrated an roller shutter via paperUI and simple mode and an led light bulb via habmin and manual Item configuration. Took me long enough to get it cleaned up in the jasonDB.

In the end i want to switch on a lightbulb if the door is opened. First I created an Item as Switch and integrated it as Switch in my sitemap. So i looked again and found the Item type contact which to me looked far better for this since all I want the sensor to signal is door open or door closed.

But in the sitemap i just see the Item on the left side, but no information on the right side like the on off toggle with the lightbulb. What is the correct way to do this? So the Conntact item is not persistent in the system, just when i trigger it?

So any other suggestions how to debug this? No, that does not happen. Here is the logfile. Any Error i should care about?

You are looking at the Thing, not the Item I suspect. When you look at the Thing that represents this sensor in PaperUI, it will tell you what type of Item you must use to link that channel to an Item. It is not clear to me what you are looking at so it is hard to answer. Item states are presistant in the system until you change a.

The binding uses mDNS to discover the Shelly devices. They periodically announce their presence, which is used by the binding to find them on the local network. The Shelly devices can be configured to require authorization through a user id and password. In this case you need to set these values in the Thing configuration after approving the Inbox entry.

If you have multiple devices protected by the same credentials it's recommended to set the default user id and password in the binding configuration BEFORE running the discovery. In this case the binding could directly access the device to retrieve the required information using those credentials.

Otherwise a Thing of type shellyprotected is created in the Inbox and you could set the credentials while adding the Thing. In this case the credentials are persisted as part of the Thing configuration.

The Shelly series of devices has many combinations of relays, meters different versionssensors etc. For this the binding creates various channels dynamically based on the status information provided by the device at initialization time. If a channel is missing delete the Thing and re-discover it.

Creation of those channels takes about sec, maybe you need to reload the page to update the browser status. Make sure to wake up battery powered devices, so that they show up on the network. For those open the case, press that button and the LED starts flashing.

Wait a moment and then start the discovery. The device should show up in the Inbox and can be added. Sometimes you need to run the discovery multiple times. Firmware 1. You could use the Shelly App to setup 4 different positions percentage and assign id Plugs are working with Hue as well, I just tried.

It recognized a problematic 4-button Tuya-switch with full functionality single click, double and long pressthat was working neither with Hue nor with the ZigBee Binding. The integration should be easy using zigbee2mqtt. I can tell you more this afternoon. Can you tell me if the brightness would be sufficient? I am thinking of setting up a zigbee network and would like to have the initial set all from the same supplier and since LIDL is cheap worth looking into.

It says they are zigbee 3. Using CC stick seemed like a better idea since all zigbee devices should work and i have some from different vendors ikea, lidl, …. And the price is also fair cheaper than propriety gateways. Just purchased the Lidl Smart Home Gateway. Also interested in a binding that intgrates the gateway into Openhab like Ikea Tradfri.

If I read correctly, you make Lidl stuff work with Tradfri. I wonder however how I can het the Lidl gateway integrated in Openhab. I have no Ikea stuff, only the Lidl gateway and some Lidl bulbs. If you get the gateway connected to OpenHAB, please let us know. I have heard reports, that it will pair with the Amazon Echo, that has Zigbee build in, but then only lets you switch one socket.

Not all three.

Unity tilemap chunks

Since it follows the Zigbee standard I would assume it would work with e. I can confrom it works with Deconz Conbee II. Bought 2 of the EU smart plugs and works perfectly. Pairing with conbee using Phoscon app was super easy and fast. Cheers, Thorsten.

Hey, any chance of connecting the lidl gateway to Openhab? Seems there is no way for now in using lidl gateway. In my opinion the LED strips will be bright enough. Did you use zigbee binding or zigbee2mqtt binding?

If so, works without having the remote control? IKEA bulbs work without remote controll using zigbee2mqtt… probably also using zigbee binding.

Same for me, or is it discarded money, that we buy the gateway? Has anyone tested the powerstrip?
